Our family winery is located directly in the idyllic and romantic Moselle valley.
In the small village Ellenz-Poltersdorf, just a few kilometers from Cochem, we cultivate an area of 7 ha, which is mainly planted typical with Riesling.
This
winemaker Franz-Peter and viticulture technician Markus place particular emphasis on the highest quality and care with regard to wine growing and care of prime vineyards.
For it is only through
the interaction of physical labor, modern technology and unique minerality of the soil, we obtain high quality wines.
Typical of the Moselle are our growing area.
For example, our steep slopes of the unique
slate terraces, the nature of which seems tailor-made just for Riesling.
With an optimal
orientation to the south-west and a slope of up to 70% is these the guarantee for brilliant wines.
We also hope to inspire you with our wines.
In the background you can see the village Ellenz, during the grape harvest in October 2014. It was a wonderful day!!!
The preparations during the grape harvest are enormous important.
Instead of the vineyard is Markus found from
September to November mainly in the basement.
Who here wood barrels must have expected to
be sadly disappointed.
These were replaced by modern stainless steel barrels.
